EXCELLENCE IN HR LEADERSHIP AWARD
Before 2009, WSHHRA recognized a member each year with the Dorothy Gannon Award, which honored either a single or long-term contribution to the human resources management profession and to WSHHRA. In 2009 the association presented a new honor for the first time — the Kathy Franz Excellence in HR Leadership Award — to one of its founding members. The award celebrates a WSHHRA member who demonstrates professional excellence and makes a meaningful contribution to Human Resources Management in Healthcare, just as Kathy did. A founding member, Kathy spent 35 years at Yakima Memorial Hospital (now Virginia Mason Memorial) until her retirement in 2010. She remains active today as Chairperson for the South Central Washington Health Care Human Resources Association (SCWHHRA), and her exemplary HR leadership is exactly what WSHHRA seeks to recognize.
Nomination Process
Along with the nomination form, you will upload a document demonstrating the nominee's significant involvement in a leadership role within their organization, the community, Chapter activities, and/or special projects. Your narrative should describe the nominee's contribution in detail, including how it was identified, the process implemented, and the overall outcome.
